Graphite and molybdenum are used in lubricating oils to reduce friction. The crystalline structures produce sliding properties on metal surfaces, which support the emergency running properties, especially in the case of oil losses and extreme loads.
Colloidal graphite, for example, was specified in the oil of the drive components of a BMW R68. Available in 15ml tubes. Addition recommendation in gear oils: manual transmission 3%. Drive axles 5%.
